The symposium witnessed presentations by third-year students showcasing the results of their research projects in drug discovery and development through scientific posters, alongside simplified awareness leaflets explaining drug discovery mechanisms and therapeutic targets, particularly in the fields of cancer, hypertension, and diabetes.
The forum activities commenced with a scientific lecture delivered by Prof. Dalal Abu El-Ela entitled “The Journey Toward Drug Discovery,” followed by a lecture by Assistant Professor Dr. Eman El-Razzaz, which addressed the role of molecular modeling in discovering promising anti-cancer compounds.
Students also delivered oral presentations explaining their research findings and discussing their scientific ideas.
At the conclusion of the forum, Prof. Nasser Saad Mohamed and Prof. Khaled Abu Zeid distributed awards and certificates of appreciation for the Best Scientific Poster, Best Oral Presentation, and Best Awareness Leaflet, in encouragement of students to nurture their scientific passion and enhance their research and innovation skills.
The project evaluation committee included Prof. Nasser Saad Mohamed, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Prof. Dina Sami Lasheen, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Prof. Ghada El-Ansary, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Nermeen Samir, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Eman El-Razzaz, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Mai Adel, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; and Dr. Abeer Hussein Abbas, Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
