The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, organized a successful emergency evacuation drill for the faculty building under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Rehab Osman Ahmed, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Rola Milad Labib, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The drill was conducted as part of the university’s strategic plan to enhance the readiness of its facilities and their ability to handle emergencies and crises.

The exercise involved the participation of the University Civil Defense Department, the faculty’s Civil Defense team, and the administrative security staff. A Civil Defense officer explained the proper evacuation procedures and how to respond in case of fire – God forbid – before the actual drill commenced.
Alarms were then sounded, and the evacuation process was carried out through emergency exits for all individuals in the building, including faculty members, teaching assistants, students, and staff, totaling 2,225 people, in accordance with occupational safety and health regulations.
The drill successfully achieved a complete evacuation in a record time of five minutes, reflecting the efficiency of the security and Civil Defense teams as well as the high level of awareness among participants.
