The Launch of the “Your Idea, Your Company” camp in partnership between the Faculty of Business and the General Authority for Investment

The “BOOT CAMP… Your Idea, Your Company” training program was launched on the morning of Sunday, 16 November 2025, for third- and fourth-year students at the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University. The camp is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University; Mr. Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI); and Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University.

Prof. Farid Moharram explained that this camp aligns with the faculty’s strategy to enhance students’ practical skills, equip them with entrepreneurship tools, and strengthen the faculty’s partnerships with the labor market. He emphasized that such initiatives support Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development and contribute to preparing a new generation capable of driving the national economy forward.

The first day of the camp, held at the headquarters of GAFI, featured intensive training sessions covering the concept of entrepreneurship and its importance in offering innovative solutions to customer challenges. The sessions also highlighted the key personal traits required for a successful entrepreneur.

The lectures included a detailed explanation of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt, clarifying the role of business incubators, accelerators, and various funding entities. Trainers also outlined the fundamental differences between small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

The training further focused on the stages of startup development—from idea generation and team building, through idea validation and prototype development, to growth strategies, scaling up, and exploring different exit options.

The Dean added that the faculty plans to organize additional training camps soon, with dates to be announced successively, aiming to provide more students with valuable training opportunities. He expressed his appreciation for the constructive cooperation between the Faculty and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in organizing this camp.
