Ain Shams University and the American University in Cairo sign partnership to launch “Business Leadership in Healthcare” Certificate Program for Faculty of Medicine students

As part of Ain Shams University’s ongoing efforts to develop future healthcare leaders capable of integrating scientific excellence with managerial and innovative skills, the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir Campus hosted the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University and the School of Continuing Education at the American University in Cairo (AUC) to launch the Business Leadership in Healthcare Certificate program for Ain Shams medical students.

         
   
         

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Hala El-Said, Advisor to the President of Egypt for Economic Development and former Minister of Planning and Economic Development; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Dr. Ehab Abdel-Rahman, AUC Provost; and Prof. Mohamed Saleheen, Vice President of Ain Shams National University for Academic Affairs, along with a distinguished group of academic leaders from both institutions.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Ain Shams University Hospitals, representing Ain Shams University, and Dr. Mahmoud Allam, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at AUC, representing the American University in Cairo.

         
   
         

The partnership aims to introduce a program that integrates leadership and management expertise within medical education, in line with global advancements in the healthcare sector.

Speakers at the event emphasized that this collaboration represents a pioneering step in the region toward preparing the “physician of the future” — one who combines scientific distinction with executive leadership within the healthcare system. They also affirmed that Ain Shams University continues to pursue strategic partnerships that reinforce its leading role in advancing medical education in Egypt and the region.

         
   
         

This agreement comes as part of the Faculty of Medicine’s continuous efforts to modernize its curriculum and offer innovative career pathways that position students and graduates for regional and international leadership and professional excellence.

The program will be implemented starting this academic year for students of Ain Shams National University’s Faculty of Medicine, as an integral component of their studies, with the goal of graduating a new generation of visionary leaders in the healthcare sector.

The signing ceremony was attended by several distinguished academic and administrative leaders, including, Dr. Alya Galal, Vice Dean of the School of Continuing Education, Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Rania Salah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ansam Seif, Head of the Medical Education Department, Dr. Maha Zakaria, Director of the Medical Program at Ain Shams National University, Ms. Doaa Saleh, Head of Grants and Projects Office at AUC, Ms. Noha Salem, Deputy Head of Scholarships and Projects Office at AUC, and Dr. Nesma Abdel-Aziz, Coordinator of the Business Leadership in Healthcare program at Ain Shams University.
