The Faculty of Al-Alsun Organizes a Seminar on International Publishing Experiences in the Field of Languages

The Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, organized a seminar titled "International Publishing Experiences in the Field of Languages," under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, University President; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty; and under the supervision of Prof. Ashraf Atiya, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

The seminar was opened by Prof. Ashraf Atiya, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, with an opening speech emphasizing the importance of international publishing as a fundamental pillar for advancing scientific research and elevating the university’s status both regionally and internationally. Prof. Atiya stressed that international publishing not only documents scientific achievements but also serves as a bridge for communication with the global academic community, providing researchers opportunities to learn from international experiences and exchange innovative ideas. He also highlighted the necessity of carefully selecting peer-reviewed journals to ensure the research reaches the appropriate scientific audience, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and academic integrity.

The seminar was organized by the Scientific Publishing Office, chaired by Assistant Prof. Reham Amer, and featured presentations by:

Prof. Samar Abdel Salam, Professor of Literature, English Department

Prof. Nihal Naji, Professor of Linguistics, English Department

Prof. Shaimaa Radwan, Professor of Translation, Spanish Department

Dr. Monica Marcos, Lecturer in Translation, French Department

The seminar covered the importance of international publishing and its role in advancing scientific research and enhancing the university’s academic ranking. It also reviewed international indexes and journals and the mechanisms for selecting the appropriate journal for specific research fields. The speakers shared their personal experiences in international publishing and outlined the application steps for the university’s International Publishing Award for outstanding researchers.

The seminar witnessed wide attendance from faculty staff, teaching assistants, master's and doctoral researchers, and graduate students.
