The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University organized a welcome ceremony for its new students for the academic year 2025-2026. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, who congratulated the students on beginning a vital new chapter in their academic and professional journey by joining university life, particularly the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, which boasts a rich legacy of over 25 years. Throughout this time, the faculty has produced some of the most qualified professionals in the computing field, both locally, regionally, and internationally.

In her speech, Prof. Rasha Ismail highlighted the unique nature of the faculty's academic programs, a total of ten distinguished programs that meet the demands of local and regional labor markets while aligning with the world’s top academic standards. These programs cover cutting-edge fields that form the foundation of today’s digital transformation and innovation, such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Robotics Computing, Data Science, and other pioneering disciplines.
She also noted that the faculty is accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) and that one of its programs has received international accreditation. Furthermore, the faculty has established international academic partnerships, including collaboration with the University of East London, aimed at enhancing students' global competitiveness and integrating them into an educational and research environment that adheres to international quality standards.
Prof. Hala Mosheer, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, also addressed the students, warmly welcoming them and emphasizing the importance of academic commitment and striving for excellence. She encouraged students to take full advantage of their four years of study by actively participating in the wide range of student activities offered by the faculty, including cultural, artistic, and sports events, which contribute to shaping well-rounded, confident individuals.

Prof. Mahmoud Mounir, Coordinator of the Faculty’s International Programs, gave an overview of the available academic tracks and their unique features. These include Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Digital Multimedia, Robotics Computing, and Bioinformatics, many of which are the only programs of their kind among Egyptian universities.
Dr. Mona Abdel Azim, Head of the Alumni Unit, spoke about the unit’s role as a bridge between students and the job market through various events and activities. She highlighted the unit’s efforts to provide training programs and workshops in collaboration with leading tech companies, as well as internship opportunities hosted within the faculty to help students gain practical, hands-on experience.
Dr. Hanan Yousry, Coordinator of the International Degree Program and Head of the International Students Unit, welcomed the international students and introduced them to the services and support offered by the unit. She also explained the Dual Degree program, which grants students in the faculty’s specialized programs a double certification, and offers summer training opportunities at the University of East London, equipping them with valuable global academic and professional experience.
The welcoming event featured a variety of artistic and cultural performances, student competitions, and a special meeting dedicated to introducing international students to faculty and university life.
