Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Acting President of Ain Shams National University, inaugurated the orientation event for incoming students at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence at Ain Shams National University. The event welcomed students enrolled in the Computer Science and the Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Analytics programs.

In attendance were Prof. Mohamed Salheen, Vice President of Ain Shams National University for Academic Affairs; Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty; and Mr. Samir Othman, Acting Secretary-General of the National University.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Mohamed Diaa congratulated the new students on the beginning of their academic journey, emphasizing that Ain Shams University is one of Egypt’s oldest and most prestigious institutions, with a long-standing impact on both Egypt and the Arab region. He urged students to take pride in being part of this leading academic institution, pointing to the faculty’s notable track record of international achievements in global competitions.

He noted that Ain Shams National University is a true extension of the parent university, sharing the same vision of keeping pace with global developments and preparing graduates capable of competing both locally and internationally.
Moreover, He also stressed the growing importance of technology and artificial intelligence as key drivers of the future across all sectors. He encouraged students to make the most of the university’s academic programs and personal development activities to build well-rounded skills and strong scientific and practical competencies.
Prof. Mohamed Salheen reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting students and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure a comprehensive learning environment that helps students achieve their academic and professional goals.

In her address, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, expressed her enthusiasm for the new academic year, stressing that the global job market is increasingly focused on specialized programs and AI-driven skill sets across all fields, including healthcare, industry, and services.

She emphasized that the faculty offers high-quality academic programs aligned with market needs and aimed at preparing graduates to compete both regionally and globally. She also provided an overview of the academic programs and regulatory frameworks, encouraging students to pursue continuous learning, develop their skillsets, and cultivate new abilities that open wide horizons for their futures
Prof. Rasha noted the faculty’s dedication to offering advanced training courses in collaboration with leading global tech companies, providing students with hands-on experience. She also encouraged students to actively participate in extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, cultural events, and international science competitions, to showcase their talents and creativity.
Whereas Prof. Eman Maghawry, Program Director at the Faculty, presented a detailed overview of the academic programs, explaining that the curriculum is based on the credit hour system and aims to equip students with high-level data handling expertise, preparing them for success in local and international job markets.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, giving students the opportunity to have their questions answered and begin their university journey with clarity and confidence.
