A meeting of the Council of Graduate Studies and Research at Ain Shams University was held, chaired by Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and attended by council members, including vice deans for graduate studies and deans.
Prof. Amany Osama Kamel congratulated the academic leaders who assumed the positions of new deans: Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences; Prof. Walaa Mohamed Abdel-Ghani, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; and Prof. Amr Shaath, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

She also honored several academic leaders who had completed their terms in recognition of their outstanding efforts and contributions to the development of the sector. The honorees included Prof. Hanan El-Shaer, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Girls, and Prof. Wael Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, who were each awarded the university shield.
During the meeting, the council reviewed several important topics on the agenda, which aim to develop the graduate studies system and improve the scientific research environment at the university.
Among the most prominent topics discussed were the proposed administrative and financial regulations for the Scientific Research Ethics Committee at the Faculty of Education. Regarding research and academic cooperation, the Council proposed several memoranda of understanding to strengthen partnerships with prestigious international universities, such as the University of Tokyo in Japan and the University of Moscow in Russia, as well as Arab universities, with the aim of exchanging expertise and knowledge.

The rules for new promotions for academic committees were also discussed. The activities and services of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center were also presented, highlighting its importance in supporting student and research creativity and enhancing the university's position in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with its strategy and Egypt Vision 2030.
The Council discussed the report on the status of digital transformation and ways to support and develop the performance of the Networks and Information Technology Center to ensure the provision of highly efficient technical services to faculty members and students. The report of the Quality Assurance Center was also reviewed, along with its plans for monitoring and evaluating academic and administrative performance, which will contribute to raising the efficiency of the educational and research process.

The meeting also included a report on the status of international students and the services provided to them. The aim was to enhance the international student experience, overcome obstacles, and provide academic and administrative support, contributing to enhancing the university's competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the council emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between faculties and research, administrative, and technological centers to support academic and research excellence and move toward a smart university that achieves local and international competitiveness.
