Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the "Digital Heritage Hall" project at the Zafaran Palace Museum has been selected for the longlist of qualified projects in the ICOM International Competition for Sustainable Development Practices in Museums, organized by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
It is worth noting that the Zafaran Palace Museum at Ain Shams University is the first educational museum within Egyptian universities. It was inaugurated in May 2023 and showcases Egyptian civilization across its various historical eras.
The Zafaran Museum is also the sole representative of Egypt in this international competition.
This recognition reflects the diversity, creativity, and commitment of museums worldwide, and serves as a tribute to the professionals and institutions striving to harness the potential of museums in building a more sustainable and equitable future.
This is also the first global competition to honor innovative initiatives and exemplary practices that effectively contribute to sustainable development within the global museum sector.
