A symposium at the Faculty of Dentistry discussing global warming and the carbon footprint

As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to spreading awareness about sustainable development and achieving its goals, which are aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030, the university's Center of Excellence for Sustainability organized an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Dentistry on Monday, June 2, 2025. The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty. The seminar was supervised by Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Zeinab Mahmoud Hindi, Deputy Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability, and a group of staff and nurses.

The seminar discussed important issues such as global warming, climate change, the importance of measuring and calculating carbon footprints, and the sources of carbon footprints. Trainees calculated their carbon footprints using a website provided by the General Organization for Standardization and Quality. The symposium witnessed constructive discussions and dialogues with attendees, highlighting the importance of the individual's role in preserving the environment.
