Towards the Digitization of Heritage: The Faculty of Archaeology Integrates Artificial Intelligence into Archaeological Studies as Part of the "From Us to Us" Initiative

Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Rami Maher Sadek, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Faculty of Archaeology, Ain Shams University, is organizing a specialized lecture entitled "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Archaeology and Heritage" as part of the "From Us to Us" initiative.

This comes under the supervision of Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology, and Dr. Nawal Gaber, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and with the follow-up of Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, and Mrs. Amira Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Unit, where a group of distinguished students of the Faculty will lecture in the seminar, who will share with their colleagues their practical experiences on how to employ artificial intelligence technologies in the field of archaeology and heritage in an innovative and effective way.

The lecture includes a detailed explanation of how to write effective prompts for artificial intelligence tools to obtain the desired outputs accurately, along with a presentation of models and videos created by artificial intelligence related to archaeological sites and cultural heritage. Attendees will also learn about methods of creating digital videos and films using artificial intelligence techniques, as well as how to convert two-dimensional images into three-dimensional models, which contributes to reviving cultural heritage in a modern and innovative way, and allows students to explore the vast technical possibilities in this field.

This lecture represents a unique opportunity for students of the Faculty of Archaeology to develop their practical skills in employing modern technology and linking it to their academic specialization. It also provides a platform for exchanging ideas and creativity and promoting the spirit of teamwork and scientific participation within the faculty.

This lecture is expected to open new horizons for students and increase their awareness of the importance of artificial intelligence as an effective tool for studying and preserving cultural heritage. It will also empower them to contribute innovatively to the development of future projects in this vital field. The lecture will be held on Monday at 12:00 PM in Room 171 of the faculty building.
