Ain Shams University's Scouts host the Official Basic Study to Qualify Future Leaders in the Sea Scout Units

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and as part of the distinguished student activities organized by the Education and Student Sector - Scouts Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare Office, the Ain Shams University Permanent Camp, located in the Faculty of Agriculture, hosted the official basic study activities for qualifying assistant leaders of marine scout units.

This important study was organized by the Scouts and Public Service Committee in cooperation with the Marine Scout Association of the General Union of Scouts and Guides, and took place from April 30 to May 3, 2025.

         
   
         

The study aimed to provide qualified scouts from various clans of the university's faculties with basic leadership skills, and to highlight the role and tasks of the leader in the scouting. The training program also included other vital aspects that contribute to building the scout's personality and developing his capabilities, including: the foundations of effective planning, innovative methods for solving problems, the importance of records and how to manage them, as well as the vital role and basic needs of the unit leader's assistant, practical training in outdoor life skills, and organizing the outdoor day at the permanent scout camp at the Faculty of Agriculture.

The curriculum covers a variety of topics essential to Scouting, including the definition, principles, and history of Scouting, the traditions of the Scout flag, the badge system, the Scout uniform tradition, the basics of measurements and heights, Scout knotting and tying skills, Scout camp traditions, the official qualification system for Scouting, the Marine Collision Prevention Act, the types of hooks and hawsers and their uses in marine activities, the components and basics of the felucca, practical training in steering the rudder, the comprehensive Scouting curriculum, the types of Scout meetings and their management skills, the formation and structure of the Scout unit, and important first aid principles.

The study saw the active participation of many enthusiastic and qualified scouts from various faculties across the university, reflecting the growing interest in scouting activities and their role in honing students' leadership and personal skills.

These activities come within the framework of Ain Shams University's commitment to providing a comprehensive and integrated educational environment for students, not limited to academic aspects but extending to extracurricular activities that contribute to building an aware generation capable of assuming responsibility and serving the community.

This study is expected to contribute to the graduation of an elite group of qualified assistant leaders capable of supporting and developing the Sea Scouting at both the university and the community.
