Today, the Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University organized its 12th student's Conference and 9th International Student Conferences, titled "The Impact of Nursing Education between Digitization and Artificial Intelligence in Light of the Sustainable Development Goals."
The conference was held under the patronage and attendance of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty and Chair of the Conference; Prof. Hala Mohamed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and under the supervision of Prof. Asmaa Hafez, Director of the International Students Unit.
The conference was attended by Prof. Hiam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office, Prof. Taie Abdel Latif, former Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, and a number of faculty staff, teaching assistants, graduate students, and international students from several countries, including Sudan, Nigeria, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, and Somalia.
In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, expressed his happiness at attending this conference, as nursing is a fundamental pillar that contributes to the success of the medical system. He explained that nursing is a mission, not just a profession, and without it, integrated medical services cannot be achieved.
His Excellency also praised the role of nursing and its contributions to maintaining patients' health, in addition to the faculty's role and efforts in supporting its students in all aspects to achieve the highest professional level.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa emphasized that holding such conferences on a regular basis enhances rapprochement between students of different nationalities, integrates international students, and reduces their sense of alienation, making them feel like an integral part of the university community.
Prof. Sahar Moussa welcomed the attendees and thanked the university's leadership for their continued support of the college and its students. She explained that this year's conference focuses on helping students understand and implement innovative nursing technologies to enhance the educational process through research and practice, focusing on the opportunities and challenges facing the nursing profession in light of sustainable development, and reviewing the role of digitization and artificial intelligence in enhancing patient care and healthcare
Prof. Sahar Moussa highlighted the conference's themes, which revolve around innovation in nursing education, practice, and research, the provision of primary healthcare, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as modern trends in leadership education and nursing professionalism.
Prof. Hala Mohamed also spoke about the faculty's ongoing commitment to supporting student activities within it and honing students' skills and talents, enabling the graduation of students capable of meeting the challenges of the times and excelling in the labor market, given that the nursing sector is one of the most important medical sectors in the health system within any society.
It is worth noting that the opening activities included a broadcast presentation about the faculty and its graduates, a scout presentation, and a presentation on the cultures of the countries of origin of the incoming students.
On the sidelines of the conference, Prof. Mohamed Diaa, accompanied by Prof. Sahar Moussa and Prof. Hala Mohamed, toured the exhibition, which featured a number of exhibits and student products from the science departments, products from international students, and some food from their home countries. Each student wore their own national costume to represent their country.
Finally, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen and Prof. Sahar Moussa exchanged shields. Shields were presented to the vice deans, and certificates of appreciation were presented to a number of outstanding and high-achieving students, as well as to a number of honorees and winners of various student activities, such as sports, cultural activities, scouts, and others.
