A stable family = A safe society... Family awareness seminar at Ain Shams University

Within the framework of Ain Shams University’s keenness to educate university youth about the most important contemporary societal issues, and to spread awareness of the importance of preserving the Egyptian family, its cohesion and stability, the Ain Shams University Student Union and the Students for Egypt Family, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized an educational symposium under the slogan “A Stable Family = A safe society", under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University.

The symposium was attended by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Al-Sayyid Al-Arabi and His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Tharwat Abdul Latif Sarhan, members of Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa, where His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Al-Sayyid Al-Arabi explained and clarified the conditions for engagement and marriage contracts, how to choose a husband and wife, and how to overcome marital problems and reconcile between spouses and raising children in the right way.

He also urged students to obtain information from its correct source through the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa in the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom, and not through unreliable websites, and the necessity of obtaining courses for those about to get married and how to obtain them to build a good family.

In his speech, His Eminence Sheikh Tharwat Abdul Latif Sarhan discussed the causes of divorce, the challenges facing the Islamic family, and the systematic wars to dismantle family cohesion, and he urged students to ask their questions by calling (19906), or by writing to the Al-Azhar International Center for Monitoring and Fatwa electronic website. He explained that the center seeks to reach the minds of young people and deliver the correct information to them.

At the end of the awareness seminar, an open dialogue took place with the students, and all their questions were answered and all matters were clarified for them.

It is worth noting that the organization of these seminars by the Education and Student Affairs Sector comes in order to maintain a safe society and create strong generations capable of driving the engine of development and progress and finding solutions to reduce the phenomena of domestic violence and crime in society, through lectures, workshops and open dialogues on topics that includes belonging and strengthening identity, personal freedom and expression of opinion and the relationship between them, and the value of life in Islam.
