The Dean of the Faculty of Arts receives a Senior Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of Guinea to discuss ways of cooperation

Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, received the Senior Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of Guinea, and the Cultural Affairs Officer, Mr. Sila Mohamed Foudi, in order to strengthen the relationship between the two parties and support international students.

During the meeting, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed Ain Shams University’s keenness to support international students of different nationalities and expand the base of student exchange between different countries of the world, which is in line with the philosophy of Ain Shams University as a research and academic institution with a competitive advantage and also contributes to raising its international classification.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed joint cooperation, through student exchange and providing academic scholarships to students. Mr. Sella, the Senior Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of Guinea, said that Egypt was the one that embraced the State of Guinea, especially in the cultural field, starting in 1989, and it was the first country to truly recognize Guinea and not just politically. He added that Egypt supported Guinea in all fields and fields, as His Eminence mentioned the role of Egypt and its Al-Azhar missions in shaping his personality, as he was one of the first to benefit from those missions.

His Excellency also stressed that coming to Egypt is an honor for him and that Egypt is still the backbone of the State of Guinea. He also stressed that this is not a compliment but an expression of reality, and he pointed to the cultural role of Al-Azhar in the State of Guinea, as it is a country located in West Africa, and the official religion there is Islam. During his speech, he stressed the depth of the historical relations between Guinea and Egypt.

The cultural advisor explained that the purpose of the visit is summed up in three axes: getting to know each other and consolidating relations, as for the first time a cultural advisor who is a graduate of an Arab-Islamic college has been appointed, and this is an opportunity to gain Egyptian support in general and from the educational staff in particular to prove to the world that Arab education is of great benefit and importance, especially in the cultural aspect. The second axe is to count Guinean students, follow up on their conditions, and finally increase the area of joint cooperation with Ain Shams University and increase the number of students to study at the university.

Mr. Sela praised the efforts of Ain Shams University in providing all educational and life opportunities for students and trying to reduce the feeling of alienation by integrating them with various educational and student activities. He also thanked His Excellency the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Hanan Kamel, for the good reception and hospitality.

Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, extends my sincere thanks and gratitude to His Excellency for his sweet words and beautiful feelings towards Egypt, explaining that Egypt and Africa are an indivisible part and that Africa is a human treasure before it is material wealth. This is the firm vision of the Egyptians and that Egypt stands side by side with all brotherly countries, and Her Excellency welcomed their invitation to attend conferences, symposiums and all events organized by the Faculty of Arts, with the aim of enhancing cultural cooperation and developing bonds of mutual cooperation.
