Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support visited Center Prof. Ahmed Okasha Psychiatry

Based on the right to health care, which is one of the basic human rights, the Center Prof. Ahmed Okasha Psychiatry, at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Nahla Naji, received Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shahid, founder and chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support, and members of the foundation to review the services provided in outpatient clinics for hyperactive children, autism, behavioral disorders for adolescents, drug addiction and depression for adults, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals.

During the visit, the team distributed gifts to the patients to support them in their suffering and wish them a speedy recovery.

   
   

This visit comes in light of the protocol signed between the two sides, which aims to provide psychological support services and exchange experiences and studies in the field of psychological support and mental health for university students, by providing competent specialists and psychiatrists trained in defining mental illnesses and educating youth and families about mental illness, its dangers, and methods of treatment. This is done in a safe environment that preserves their dignity and the necessary confidentiality.

In addition to exchanging practical experiences with the university in the field of mental health support and awareness, in addition to cooperating in developing the university’s psychological support unit and developing its work mechanisms to provide psychological support and guidance, providing the necessary awareness to young people regarding mental illness and how to deal with the psychological patient, his needs, rights, and ways of various treatments and participation in any awareness campaigns related to mental illness organized by the university to provide awareness content.

It is worth noting that the "Fahim" Foundation seeks to achieve the integration of psychiatric patients into society and to enhance their ability to acknowledge their psychological condition and obtain appropriate treatment without fear or intimidation.

The main goal is to create a society that stands against discrimination and violence towards these patients, and shows full understanding of their conditions while providing them with the necessary support to overcome the challenges they may face.
