Opening of the charitable clothing exhibition at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit and the Rotary of Heliopolis

The Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, and the Cairo Rotary Club, organized the “Charity Exhibition of Clothes for Students,” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Development Affairs. Environment, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hanan Mohamed Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the presence of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Hind Al-Hilali, Director of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the University, Dr. Nelly Samir El-Desouki, President of the Cairo Platinum Rotary Club, and coordinated by Mrs. Suha Al-Sabaa, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, and Student Helmy Ahmed, President of the Student Union.

Before the opening of the exhibition, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, received the members of the exhibition organizing committee in her office. She also stressed during the meeting the Faculty’s keenness since 2016 to participate in the activities of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women, sponsored by the National Council for Women and in cooperation with the Women’s Support Unit.

The exhibition comes as a continuation of the activities and events carried out by the unit in all the university’s faculties. The Faculty of Arts was chosen because it has the highest percentage of female students and faculty members. The attendees also stressed that the exhibition aims to cooperate with civil society institutions, especially the Cairo Rotary Club Branch, in order to serve university students.

The exhibits included approximately 10,000 pieces of women's and men's clothing, accessories and shoes from the most famous brands, and new and old toys and books at nominal prices. Then they headed to the opening of the exhibition in the Youth Care Hall, where the exhibition witnessed a large turnout, and they were keen to take souvenir photos.

They also noted that a symposium will be held in the field of educating female and male students and spreading health awareness among them entitled: “Your health is important to us” on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 12 o’clock in the faculty conference hall, where Prof. Amal El-Sisi, Projects Manager, Rotary Cairo, Dr. Jihan Tamu, Protary Cairo Women and Girls Committee, Dr. Siham Jibril, Rapporteur of the Governorates Committee of the National Council for Women, gave a lecture.
