Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, to congratulate Prof. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Environmental Architecture and Urbanism Program, on the occasion of receiving the international accreditation certificate from the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). During the annual celebration (AT Awards) organized by CIAT in London, United Kingdom on October 20, 2023 to hand out excellence awards and celebrate the achievements of specialists in the field of architectural technology to academic and professional bodies.

The international accreditation certificate was issued for the Environmental Architecture and Urbanism program for a period of five years (2022-2027), and Ain Shams University was represented in receiving the accreditation certificate by Prof. Marwa Khalifa, Director of the Environmental Architecture and Urbanism Program.

CIAT is the international accredited body for specialists in architectural engineering technology, primarily in the UK but also internationally, and with the accreditation of the program graduates of the program are entitled to an exemption from professional assessment - for meeting the necessary educational standards - when applying to the body to become internationally certified architectural technologists.

The accrediting body praised the program's approach to environmental design and how it integrates key sustainability issues into the curriculum through the use of sustainable materials, technologies and techniques.

Reviewers also praised the program's industry connections and the program's unique student activity opportunities.
