Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud and a team of the Faculty of Medicine receive a special award at the International Conference of the Hellenic Society of Spine Surgery

In a celebration attended by a large number of spine professors from various countries of the world, Professor Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, and a work team at the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, received a special award from the arbitration committee in International Congress of the Hellenic Society of Spine Surgery, which was held in Porto Heli, Greece.

The award is an important international recognition for the work of the Spine Surgery Unit at the University’s Faculty of Medicine.

   
   

In a statement by Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, he stressed his great happiness with the award, which is presented by one of the oldest spinal surgery associations in Europe, and it is considered a major scientific school, as his Excellency presented a research paper that is the result of great work carried out by Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud in cooperation with Prof. Magdy Gamal, professor and head of the spine surgery unit at Ain Shams Medicine, Dr. Mostafa Kandil, lecturer of spinal endoscopy at Ain Shams Medicine, and Dr. Zakaria Hassan, lecturer of orthopedics at Ain Shams Medicine, indicating that the Greek Society of Spine Surgery is working to develop spine care in Greece and gather between spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals who have a common interest in treating spinal disorders, it works to develop the field of spine surgery in Greece and in collaboration with other international spine societies to exchange knowledge and experience.

Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud is considered the first Egyptian doctor and surgeon to succeed in inventing a surgical method to stabilize the sacrum bone with medical screws in a safe way. His name and the name of Egypt were registered in international scientific references and periodicals. He also served as President of the International Society of Spine Surgery.
