Inclusion of a new journal of the Faculty of Al-Alsun in the Norwegian index

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, announced that, in the context of completing the efforts and measures taken by the Faculty of Al-Alsun to develop its research publications, the journal Textual Turns: Journal of English and Comparative Studies has been included in the Norwegian register for scientific journals, under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University.

She explained that the inclusion of the magazine in the Norwegian index came to document the extent of the development of scientific publishing in the faculty, which the university administration has pursued for several years, and confirms the university’s strategy in advancing all aspects of scientific research and its keenness to advance in international classifications.

Prof. Fadwa Abdel Rahman, editor-in-chief of the magazine, indicated that Textual Turnings: Journal of English and Comparative Studies is considered a peer-reviewed academic journal specializing in English language studies in its various branches (literature - linguistics - translation study), and is issued regularly annually by the English Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, since 2019, the editorial board has included specialized professors from the English Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, in addition to professors from various Egyptian and European universities.

For his part, Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research pointed out that the inclusion of Textual Turns: Journal in the Norwegian index comes within the various steps taken by the College to internationalize its scientific publications, as the Faculty issues 3 peer-reviewed scientific journals: “Philology” journal, Al-Alsun newspaper, and Textual Turns: Journal of English and Comparative Studies, all of which received the highest rating in the local classification of scientific journals, and both “Philology” journal and Al-Alsun newspaper were included in the Arabic Citation Index issued in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the international Clarivate Analytics Foundation and in the Dar Al-Mandumah database.
