Ain Shams University congratulates the winners of the state awards and the awards of bodies and individuals from the Academy of Scientific Research for this year

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, and the Awards Office at the university sincerely congratulate the winners of the state awards and the awards of bodies and individuals from the Academy of Scientific Research for this year, as follows:

- Prof. Muhammad Taha Ahmed Hanafi, Emeritus Professor, Department of Design and Production Engineering, at the Faculty of Engineering, for receiving the State Appreciation Award in the field of engineering sciences for this year.

- Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah Attia, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering, at the Faculty of Engineering, for receiving the State Encouragement Award in the field of engineering sciences for this year.

- Prof. Mohamed Saeed Attia, Professor of Photoanalytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, at Ain Shams University, for being jointly awarded the Mohamed Sabry Abdel Mottalib Prize in the field of photochemical and solar chemistry, which is one of the prizes granted by the Academy of Scientific Research to institutions and individuals for this year.

It is worth noting that Prof. Muhammad Taha Hanafi, who won the State Appreciation Award in the field of engineering sciences for the year 2022, held the position of Head of the Design and Production Engineering Department and previously won the State Encouragement Award in Engineering Sciences, and his sovereignty was ranked among the top 2% of scientists, at the world level from Stanford University, His Excellency established the Materials and Metals Engineering Unit, and His Excellency participated in more than 25 research projects with many international institutions.

His Excellency has also been included in many international encyclopedias. His Excellency has established the Master of Engineering and Postgraduate Diploma programs in Product Development and Innovation at the Faculty of Engineering at the University. His Excellency has a distinguished scientific school in advanced materials and has supervised many master’s and doctoral dissertations. He also has many distinguished scientific researches published locally, and globally, with a total number of research papers reaching approximately 166, His Excellency also participated in the editing of many specialized international scientific journals, participated in the membership of the promotion committees of the Supreme Council of Universities, and participated in many local and international conferences with nearly 90 conferences. His Excellency also has many scientific international relations and cooperation, the conclusion of many cooperation agreements, and the completion of many Research projects that are closely related to industrial applications in Egypt.

Also, Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah Attia, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering, at the Faculty of Engineering, and recipient of the State Encouragement Award in the field of engineering sciences for the year 2022, has obtained a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Ain Shams University, and he is a reviewer for many international journals and a magazine of Ain Shams University of Engineering, and he has contributed to the authoring of many international books in the fields of sustainable energy technology, and he has headed the editorship of one of the international journals in the field of engineering.

He also participated in the supervision of master's and doctoral theses with nearly 20 theses and participated in many local and international conferences in addition to his participation in many scientific training courses, and his Excellency obtained many certificates in various skills.

It is worth noting that Prof. Mohamed Saeed Attia is a professor of photoanalytical chemistry at the Faculty of Science, at Ain Shams University, who jointly won the Mohamed Sabry Abdel Mottalib Prize in the field of photovoltaic and solar chemistry this year, which are the awards granted by the Academy of Scientific Research to organizations and individuals. He obtained a Ph.D. in 2006 and most of his research is concerned with early detection of diseases, especially tumors. He has published many research papers in local and international scientific journals with nearly a hundred papers, making it a reference for scientists and researchers in the field of specialization and co-authoring many international books and chapters In it, as well as participating in the editorial boards of many international journals, and his honor is keen to participate in many international conferences in the field of specialization, and his honor obtained the degree of assistant professor in 2012, then he obtained the degree of professor in 2017 and his honor is classified in the Stanford list for the best 2% of world scientists.
