The International Design Studio team at Ain Shams University participates in a workshop in the United States of America

Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, and led by the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University represented by Prof. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty, and logistical support From Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Strategic Planning and General Supervisor of the International Design Studio, a team of students from the "Architecture" and "Environmental Architecture and Urbanism" programs at Ain Shams University participated in the International Design Studio workshop, which was held from 7 to 16 March at Clemson University, USA.

Where Egyptian students participated with American students in presenting an integrated vision for the development of the Grand Canal area in the Chinese city of Yangzhou, in both its heritage and modern parts, and proposing projects that achieve sustainability, flexibility, environmental integration, climate adaptation, revitalization of tourism, and heritage preservation. The Grand Canal is one of the oldest and longest man-made water systems in the world, it was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.

         
   
         

It is worth noting that the International Design Studio is an interdisciplinary design studio that brings together various architectural disciplines with the participation of 3 universities, Ain Shams University (Egypt), Clemson University (United States), and Huajong University (China) since 2017, while the studio is an extension of bilateral cooperation between Ain Shams University and Clemson University for a year, students of architecture and urbanism programs at the three universities participate annually in the International Design Studio in developing visions and solutions for various urban problems within their countries, provided that they are national projects. The International Design Studio is the first of its kind in the field of inter- and international specialized cooperation.
