The impact of climate change on biodiversity... A public lecture for students of the Faculty of Archeology

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and the implementation of Mr. Tamer Tharwat Al-Assal, Director of Student Welfare Department, and the organization of the Faculty's Students' Union. On Monday, March 28, at 3:00 in Hall 160, the Faculty of Archeology held a public lecture for students entitled "The Impact of Climate Change on Biological Diversity" in which Dr. Heba Salah Hamed, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Girls.

Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, stated that this lecture comes within the framework of the development and implementation of training programs that the Faculty of Archeology is witnessing, including lectures and workshops, including this lecture, which aims to educate students and show what the state is doing in the field of development while preserving and protecting the environment and achieving development sustainable development for future generations, and the link between that and Egypt’s choice to host the COP27 climate summit and the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in appreciation of the efforts made by the country, which is the summit scheduled to be hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh during the month of November of this year, and to indicate the great importance of this Summit for some countries, especially threatened by the effects of climate change. His Excellency, before the start of the workshop, presented Dr. Hiba Salah Hamed to the audience and presented a brief summary of her biography and the most important practical stations in her life and work, assistant professor of fish physiology at the Girls’ College of Arts, Sciences and Education, and trainer of Egyptian and African climate ambassadors.

Dr. Heba Salah addressed in the lecture what is the carbon footprint, how to calculate the carbon footprint of the individual, the impact of the carbon footprint of the individual on climate change, what is biodiversity and its types, causes of climate change, the impact of climate change on biodiversity and fisheries in Egypt, and proposed solutions to reduce the impact of Climate change on fisheries in Egypt.
