The President of Ain Shams University honors 10 winners of the Confucius “Ain Shams for poster design” competition

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed, Director of the Confucius Institute at the university, honored the ten students who won the best poster competition awards, which was organized by the Confucius Institute in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, and which was held under the title “We join hands together, hand in hand to create the future.”

It is noteworthy that the winners represent different universities, including Ain Shams University, Badr University, Helwan University and the International Institute for Languages and Translation, all of whom are Confucius students at Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed explained that the competition was submitted by 62 male and female contestants who were qualified in two stages, then a final qualifier was conducted among 20 contestants who were voted at the level of the People’s Republic of China, where the vote turnout there amounted to more than 4000 votes, and students from all Egyptian universities participated in the competition. Among them are the universities of Ain Shams, Helwan, Beni Suef, Badr University, and the International Institute for Languages and Translation.

The specializations of the participating students varied, whether they were Chinese language learners or other disciplines such as engineering, agriculture, and others.

It is noteworthy that the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University, during the short period since its establishment, was able to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation between the Egyptian and Chinese sides in various cultural and academic fields, and held many international conferences and competitions in cooperation with various universities from China, as well as activities for teaching the Chinese language at all levels from Beginners to the final level, as well as holding an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency (HSK) online throughout the year.
