Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Dr. Hesham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation and Executive Director of the Higher Education Development Projects Unit, regarding the Measurement and Evaluation Unit of the Higher Education Development Projects Unit in cooperation and coordination with the Supreme Council of Universities, to develop an intensive training plan for members The teaching staff of medical colleges in Egyptian universities within the national system for electronic tests in Egyptian universities.

The report indicated that the plan aims to raise the efficiency of faculty members in Egyptian universities in preparing the test item according to the electronic system of question banks prepared for it, as well as training on how to deal with the application of the electronic test program and question banks that have been contracted with specialized companies to circulate it in all universities.

The report emphasized that the training plan comes in implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in implementing the national system for electronic tests in Egyptian universities, and that the training plan began to be implemented on April 24, 2021 and continues until May 30, 2021, and aims to train approximately 7,500 faculty members in medical sector colleges. Approximately 130 training programs specializing in the mechanism of application of electronic testing systems.

For her part, Dr. Sahar Amin, Director of the Center for Measurement and Evaluation at the Higher Education Development Projects Unit, explained that the training plan takes place in two phases, in which the first phase focused on presenting and discussing the scientific material through videos specially prepared for the content of the training program prepared by professors of medicine, measurement and evaluation, while The second phase of training takes place for a period of two days, the first of which is online system for the application, discussion and drafting of vocabulary and tables of specifications prepared by the trainees in advance, and an achievement test for what has been trained on, and the second training day includes introducing the trainees to the question banks and electronic tests program, and every day training takes place 12 online programs With approximately 500 trainees per day, it takes place in parallel, and the training is conducted by specialized professors.

The report pointed out that the plan was prepared by the Ministry of Measurement and Evaluation Center, which uses more than 45 trainers specialized in the field of electronic tests, and the directors of measurement and evaluation in Egyptian universities participate in the coordination of holding these courses with the full support of university presidents in addition to the role played by the center's experts To coordinate and follow up the implementation of training and to overcome any difficulties facing trainers or trainees, as well as preparing attendance lists, following up on the results of the achievement test, preparing statistics and issuing certificates.

The report noted that the impact of this plan is expected to be measured by applying electronic tests at the end of the second semester, as well as preparing question banks for the medical sector as a first stage in order to achieve fairness and transparency in evaluating students.
