Opening a clinic to treat infectious diseases at Ain Shams University Specialized Hospital in Obour

Within the framework of the continuous efforts made by all state agencies in dealing with the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic and in line with the directions of the President of the Republic that all facilities should be available to follow up and evaluate suspected cases of the virus and provide treatment for confirmed cases, as it was for the administration of Ain Shams University Hospitals under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and headed by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, sponsored an early vision in this regard, which began last April by converting Ain Shams University Specialized Hospital by crossing into an isolation hospital and ending with the field hospital to face the crisis at the highest level of competence and quality.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohsen, Director of El-Obour Specialist Hospital, said that within the framework of the hospital’s pioneering role and in preparation for facing any potential wave of the virus, it has been decided to establish a clinic for infectious and endemic diseases under the supervision of a group of consultants and professors of chest diseases and endemic diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, which is the step The first and the core to create an integrated unit for this specialization

The clinic provides its services of detection, analyzes and x-rays throughout the week, and aims to diagnose and treat infectious diseases of all kinds, evaluate suspected cases with Covid-19 virus, as well as educate, direct and follow up suspected cases, provide treatment and instructions for cases that need drug treatment during home isolation, in addition to reserving cases that need for advanced care within the hospital.
