The Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University has successfully harvested rice from an area of six feddans as part of its efforts to maximize the utilization of available agricultural resources, support local production, and integrate educational and research activities with agricultural production. This achievement comes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Walaa Abdel Ghani El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting its staff and members and helping alleviate their financial burdens, the Faculty of Agriculture continues its efforts to provide agricultural products at discounted prices by utilizing the produce from its farms and agricultural experiments.

The faculty is also committed to making its rice harvest available to university staff and members at discounted prices, contributing to the provision of an essential food commodity at affordable prices. This initiative reflects the faculty’s community service role in supporting the university community, alongside its academic, research, and production activities.

In this context, the rice harvest is available through the sales outlet at the Faculty of Agriculture, as well as mobile sales units that visit the University's various faculties, facilitating access to the product and enabling university staff and members to purchase it at reduced prices.

This initiative forms part of the Faculty of Agriculture's strategy to optimize the use of its agricultural resources, support local production, and provide practical models that connect scientific research with agricultural production. It further strengthens the University's role in community service and contributes to achieving sustainable development and food security goals.
