Ain Shams University’s Women Support Unit Launches “Your Life Matters” Mental Health Program at the Faculty of Business to Promote a Positive Work Environment

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Farid Moharram, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and under the supervision of Prof. Alaa Hussein, Supervisor of the Faculty’s Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Women Support Unit at Ain Shams University, under the supervision and organization of Prof. Hend El-Helaly, Director of the Unit, launched a training program entitled “Your Life Matters” to raise awareness of mental health and enhance the quality of life among administrative staff and employees at the Faculty of Business.

The program comes as part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting its community and fostering a healthy and safe work environment, contributing to improving employees’ mental well-being and strengthening their ability to cope positively with the pressures of work and daily life.

Prof. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Dean of the Faculty of Business, coordinated the training program in cooperation with the University’s Women Support Unit, contributing to the effective organization of the program and the achievement of its objectives.

The program featured a series of interactive sessions. Prof. Soheir Safwat, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology, delivered the first day’s sessions, while Dr. Amani Abdel Aal, Clinical Psychologist and Art Therapist at the Women Support Unit, conducted the sessions on the second day.

The sessions addressed several topics related to mental health and quality of life, including promoting inner peace and psychological well-being in the workplace, coping with daily stress and managing emotions, achieving a healthy work-life balance, and developing time-management and self-care skills.

The program also focused on providing participants with practical tools and skills to help them address various challenges and pressures with greater positivity and awareness, enabling them to maintain psychological well-being and enhance the quality of their performance in the workplace.

The program received strong and constructive engagement from the administrative staff and employees of the Faculty of Business, who actively participated in the discussions and interactive activities. This positive response highlighted the importance of such programs in building a supportive work environment that considers employees’ psychological well-being and human needs.
