Ain Shams University Honors Prof. Ghada Farouk for Her Distinguished Career and Outstanding Achievements that Have Elevated the University's Reputation

In a ceremony marked by appreciation and gratitude, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, honored Prof. Ghada Farouk Hassan, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in recognition of her distinguished career, years of dedicated service, remarkable achievements, and outstanding contributions to the University's development and progress.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Education, former Minister of Local Development, and former President of Ain Shams University; along with the University's Vice Presidents, deans of faculties, directors of centers, senior university officials, the Secretary-General, Assistant Secretaries-General, the Head of the Central Administration of the President's Office, and a number of faculty staff, all of whom gathered to celebrate her enduring contributions and achievements that have left a lasting impact on the University's journey.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen emphasized that Prof. Ghada Farouk represents an exemplary model of academic leadership and institutional dedication. He noted that she has written a distinguished chapter in the University's history as the first woman to serve as Acting President of Ain Shams University and the first woman to hold the position of Vice President in the University's long and distinguished history.

The University President expressed his pride in working alongside Prof. Ghada Farouk within the University's leadership team, highlighting her pivotal role in achieving several landmark accomplishments. Among the most significant were Ain Shams University's institutional accreditation as one of Egypt's accredited public universities, the launch of pioneering initiatives and projects—including the Community Observatory and the STEP Up Project for Complementary Learning Tracks and Micro-Credentials—as well as the adoption of numerous innovative development initiatives that strengthened the University's community engagement.

He further noted that one of the defining characteristics of her leadership has been her unwavering belief in teamwork, collaboration, consensus-building, and dedication, stressing that true giving is measured not by positions held but by the lasting impact and achievements one leaves behind.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs and a member of Ain Shams University Council, praised Prof. Ghada Farouk's sincere dedication, her ability to shoulder multiple responsibilities with calmness and efficiency, and her unwavering commitment to excellence. He emphasized that universities have always been—and will continue to be—the driving force behind national development and the building of the future.

Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Education, former Minister of Local Development, former President of Ain Shams University, and a member of the University Council, affirmed that the true value of leadership positions stems from those who occupy them. He noted that Prof. Ghada Farouk has left a clear mark in every position she has held, adding that the noblest mission remains that of the university professor in shaping individuals, educating future generations, and advancing knowledge.

Prof. Mohamed Salheen, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ain Shams National University, highlighted Prof. Ghada Farouk's academic excellence and personal integrity, recalling his own experience as one of her students and describing her as a distinguished role model in both scholarship and dedication.

Prof. Amany Osama Kamel also expressed her pride in having worked alongside Prof. Ghada Farouk, commending her precision, organizational skills, innovative vision, and ability to motivate teams, all of which contributed to creating a productive and positive work environment.

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, praised Prof. Ghada Farouk's exceptional interpersonal skills and her consistent appreciation for every member of her team, noting that these qualities were reflected in her successful management of diverse responsibilities through cooperation and mutual respect.

In her remarks, Prof. Ghada Farouk expressed her sincere gratitude to Ain Shams University for the honor, emphasizing that every achievement accomplished was the result of collective teamwork involving all members of the University community. She affirmed that Ain Shams University will always remain a prestigious academic institution whose success is built by its people—those who shape its strategies, preserve its legacy, and continue working toward a future of greater excellence and leadership.

The ceremony also featured the screening of a documentary entitled "Prof. Ghada Farouk… Inspiring Leadership, Lasting Impact," showcasing key milestones of her academic and administrative career and highlighting the achievements that contributed to strengthening Ain Shams University's development and expanding its societal role.

The documentary also highlighted her recognition by Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, Spouse of the President of the Republic, as one of the distinguished icons of Egyptian women's success, in appreciation of her outstanding contributions and pioneering role in academic and administrative leadership.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President of Ain Shams University presented the University's Shield of Honor to Prof. Ghada Farouk in recognition of her distinguished career and years of dedicated service.
