Appointing Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy to Act as Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, issued a decision appointing Prof. Dalia Hussein Mohamed Fahmy Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Postgraduate Studies and Research, to act as Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, effective June 30, 2026, until a permanent dean is appointed, while continuing to perform her duties as Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, effective August 14, 2026.

Prof. Dalia Hussein Fahmy is a prominent academic and administrative figure at Ain Shams University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Specific Education (Music Education) with very good honors, followed by two Master's degrees in Music Education (Arabic Music) and in Arabic Music (History and Manuscripts). She then obtained her PhD in Specific Education, specializing in Arabic Music, from Ain Shams University with distinction and a recommendation for dissertation exchange.

Her academic career has been marked by continuous progression through all academic ranks, starting as a teaching assistant in the Department of Music Education, then assistant lecturer, lecturer, assistant professor, and finally, professor in the same department. She also served as Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research for several terms and as Head of the Department of Music Education from 2017 to 2023.

Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy possesses extensive experience in quality assurance and academic accreditation. She serves as an external reviewer for the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, where she has participated in the preparation and review of institutional accreditation files. She also serves as an advisor to the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at Ain Shams University and is the unit's faculty coordinator.

She has made significant contributions to community service and cultural and artistic activities. She has participated in organizing and managing numerous local and international scientific conferences and has served as a reviewer for research papers in several peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she is a member of numerous scientific and cultural committees, councils, and specialized associations.

She has also served as a judge in several music festivals and competitions at the Egyptian university level, and has authored numerous books and research papers specializing in Arabic music. In addition, she has participated in media and cultural events addressing issues of music and artistic heritage, and has contributed to supporting cultural and community cooperation both within Egypt and abroad.

This appointment comes as part of Ain Shams University's commitment to leveraging distinguished academic and administrative expertise to support the development and advancement of the educational and research process, and to enhance the standing of the Faculty of Specific Education in line with the university's goals and strategic vision.
