The launch of the activities of the fourteenth scientific conference of the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, at Ain Shams University, organized its fourteenth scientific conference entitled: “Future Challenges towards Sustainability and Excellence in Internal Surgical Nursing,” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Musa Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Siham Girgis Ragheb, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Manal Salah Hassan, Acting Head of the Internal Surgical Nursing Department and Chairman of the Conference.

The conference aims to provide opportunities to learn about what is new in the field of education, training and scientific research, and to keep pace with developments and excellence in the field of nursing and health care in light of sustainable development.

The conference discussed three main axes. The first axis, “the field of education,” aims to help develop knowledge to make informed decisions in the field of nursing, which affects society as a whole and achieves sustainable development, and to exchange information and experiences about challenges, modern trends, and excellence in the field of medical surgical nursing.

The second axis is “the field of practice.” It highlights the importance of information and communication technology in developing the practice of internal surgical nursing, such as the use of smart applications, modern trends in internal surgical nursing and the best ways to apply them, discussing and applying the latest scientific research in the field of nursing, enhancing its quality and excellence and upgrading it to achieve sustainable development, defining future visions for advancing nursing tasks to achieve excellence and leadership, and implementing optimal health outcomes for all in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The third and final axis, “The Field of Scientific Research,” highlights the future vision of research in the field of excellence in medical surgical nursing, and enhances the role of scientific research in achieving sustainability and excellence in nursing care for patients.
