The continuation of the activities of the Ain Shams Development Caravan, organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in Qena Governorate, “in the village of Al-Mafarjiya - Qus Center,” for the second day.

The activities of the Ain Shams Development Caravan, organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in Qena Governorate, continued for the second day in a row, “in the village of Al-Mafarjiya - Qus Center”, and which are held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in coordination with Prof. Hala Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and under the administrative supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Mr. Tariq Amer, Director General of the General Administration of Environmental Projects, with the participation of the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing.

The convoy witnessed a strong turnout for the second day in a row in all the specialties included in the convoy for the people of the village, as the medical clinics received 2,615 cases, and medicines for various medical specialties were dispensed to about (2,500) beneficiaries of the dispensing of medicines, diabetes and blood pressure were measured for (1,200) of those who frequent clinics.

In order for the university administration to spread cultural awareness among the residents of Qena Governorate, “Al-Mafarjiya Village - Qus Center,” many awareness campaigns were organized under the supervision of Dr. Tarek Abdel Fattah, Ain Shams University Hospitals The topics included (moral values and their role in protecting society), (healthy habits and personal hygiene to prevent diseases), (proper nutrition and its impact on children’s health).

The General Authority for Adult Education also held (95) spot exams, (10) written exams, and (5) certificates were handed out.

Based on Ain Shams University’s fulfillment of its community responsibility and its keenness to provide community service to all members of society through the convoy’s activities in providing in-kind assistance to the people of the village, and in coordination with the Ministry of Defense and the Veterans Association, several prosthetic devices were provided for distribution to those in need, in coordination with the Social Affairs Authority in Qena Governorate. The number of these aids is (500) blankets, (8) wheelchairs, (10) “T” crutches, and (10) bracelet crutches.
