The sixth annual conference of the Egyptian Gastroenterological Society will be held on the 18th and 19th of May, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Director of Ain Shams University Hospital, Internal Medicine and Conference Chairman, and Professor of Internal Medicine, Liver, and Digestive System, at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, Prof. Sayed Shalaby, President of the Egyptian Society of Gastroenterology.

Prof. Tarek Youssef, Professor of Internal Medicine, Liver, and Digestive System at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, Secretary of the Egyptian Society of Gastroenterology, and Chairman of the Conference, explained that the conference provides an opportunity for young doctors to attend to benefit, interact and discuss with professors and consultants in specialties related to the digestive system and liver from various medical and university bodies in Egypt and the Arab world.

It also allows specialized doctors and those interested in endoscopy to be trained on the new diagnostic and interventional endoscopy in the two workshops throughout the two days of the conference, the conference will also organize a nursing workshop for training on dealing with modern equipment and on the required quality standards in working in care and departments.

Prof. Tariq Youssef added that the conference discusses the overlap and influence between various diseases, the digestive system, and the liver, as well as discusses the formulation of Egyptian recommendations in diseases related to the digestive system and liver in terms of diagnosis and treatment, through 20 sessions between discussion and scientific sessions and presenting realistic cases to maximize the benefit of young doctors from all over Republic, who were invited to attend and register for free through the Medical Syndicate and the various media.

It is worth noting that this year's conference devoted a session to women's health and how to deal with diseases interfering with the digestive system and liver, such as heart and chest diseases, fevers, and kidney diseases, as well as new developments in diseases and tumors of the liver, colon, immunological and genetic diseases.
