Urology tumors at Ain Shams Medicine organize a workshop in cooperation with the Egyptian Urology Association

Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Dr. Issam Fakhry, Director of the Emergency Hospital in Demerdash, and Acting Director of the Surgical Hospital, Demerdash, opened a workshop on urological surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, which was held on the 10th and 11th of this month, in cooperation with the Egyptian Urology Association.

In his speech during the opening, Prof. Hassan Shaker, Head of the Department of Urology, at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, welcomed the attendance, members of the Egyptian Society, professors, and consultants who came from all over the Republic to participate in the workshop.

         
   
         

He also welcomed the young urologists, pointing out that among the objectives of the workshop is to transfer the surgical expertise and skills of the faculty staff to the young doctors.

He reviewed the achievements of the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University and the new constructions, thanking Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, for supporting the department and the faculty.

Prof. Tarek Othman, Head of the Urinary Tract Oncology Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Head of the Oncology Division of the Egyptian Urological Society, explained that the two-day workshop includes a presentation of educational lectures for various urological tumors and new modern technologies, and the latest developments in surgical endoscopy, with a direct transfer of surgical operations from Operations rooms.

         
   
         

The workshop also deals with the latest new research in tract tumors and traditional methods of surgery, with the use of modern techniques and surgical endoscopes in other cases.

This workshop is the third, as a workshop was held on laser prostatectomy, and another on flexible ureteral endoscopy and laser for stones.

For his part, Prof. Sherif Murad, Professor of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Secretary General of the Egyptian Urological Society praised the fruitful cooperation between the association and the Faculty of Medicine, pointing out that there are a group of future workshops that will be held with the participation of both sides.

Prof. Abdel Hamid Youssef, Mr. Ismail Othman, Prof. Youssef Qutb, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Unit, Prof. Rafik Al Halabi, Prof. Sherif Murad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Urology Society and Professor of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Hassan Shaker, Head of the Urology Department, and Prof. Tariq Othman, Head of the Urological Oncology Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mohamed Esmat, Head of the Andrology and Infertility Unit, Prof. Hisham El Shawaf, Prof. Abdullah Abdel-Al, Prof. Wael Maged, Prof. Khaled Toaima, Prof. Mahmoud Ezzat, Prof. Tarek Zaher, Prof. Amr Neuer, and Prof. Hani Hamed, in addition to the participation of a group of professors of oncology at the Egyptian university and universities, and a group of faculty staff in the department, whether by attending or giving lectures.

         
   
         

And participated in the workshop

- 143 trainees from various hospitals and educational institutions nationwide over the course of the two days, in addition to 115 participants via the Internet.

- And 27 faculty members from the Department of Urology - Ain Shams University trained, performed surgeries, and managed the sessions.

- 13 professors of urology from various universities in Egypt, 4 members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Urology Association, and 2 urology experts from the United States participated in the management of the sessions.
