As part of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University’s interest in enhancing cooperation with internationally ranked universities, the Urban Design and Planning Department, in cooperation with the Visiting Professors and International Mobility Sector at the Faculty, organized a workshop on “Analyzing and Documenting 3D Cultural Heritage via the Virtual World in cooperation with Sapienza University of Italy, by hosting a delegation of visiting professors from the Faculty of Architecture at Sapienza University, which lasted for a week.

Prof. Omar Shaat, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Marwa Abu Al-Futuh, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, received the visiting delegation, which included Prof. Alfonso Ippolito, Dr. Caterina Morganetti, Lecturer Francesco Stanziola, and Engineer Nada Mokhtar, a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Architecture at Sapienza University.

This took place in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Sami, the workshop organizer, and Prof. Noha Gamal Saeed, the faculty’s scientific exchange coordinator.

During the meeting, Prof. Omar Shaat expressed his appreciation to the team, emphasizing the faculty’s commitment to supporting and strengthening scientific exchange and academic cooperation between the two universities.

Prof. Marwa Abu Al-Futuh also pointed out the importance of international universities engaging in joint research activities and scientific conferences, which contributes to the development of scientific research and the exchange of experiences.

For her part, Prof. Noha Gamal emphasized the faculty’s commitment to hosting visiting professors and involving them in the educational process at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, thereby enhancing the quality of education and fostering openness to international academic expertise.
