The Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University organized an evacuation drill for the college premises under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty. The drill was supervised by Prof. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordinated by Mr. Mohamed Abdallah, Head of the Civil Defense Unit, in cooperation with the General Administration of Civil Defense and the University Security Administration.

Prof. Sahar Moussa explained that the drill was carried out in an organized manner within three minutes, during which all faculty buildings were successfully evacuated, including faculty members, teaching assistants, students, administrative staff, and workers. She emphasized that the drill comes as part of the faculty’s continuous efforts to enhance safety measures and ensure readiness for emergency situations.

She also noted that the evacuation drill was preceded by an awareness workshop for attendees, adding that the purpose of the exercise was to train personnel to adhere to all safety standards in the event of natural disasters such as fires or earthquakes, improve the efficiency of the Civil Defense Unit in managing any potential emergency, and implement strategies aimed at achieving the highest levels of safety.
