The Scientific Day for the Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, was launched under the title: "Diabetes… The Disease of Our Time Without Complications." This event continues the department’s distinguished scientific and cultural role in promoting health awareness and keeping up with the latest medical developments in the field.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, with supervision and organization by Prof. Salwa Sedik.
The Scientific Day addressed the latest global recommendations regarding diabetes, covering its causes, complications, and prevention methods, alongside the most recent treatment approaches aimed at reducing neurological and vascular complications.
The event included participation from a distinguished group of professors in endocrinology and diabetes, faculty members, postgraduate students, and medical interns, including Prof. Laila Hendawy, Prof. Rania Hashem, Prof. Hany Khairy, and Dr. Mina Michael.
This scientific gathering serves as a prelude to the World Diabetes Day activities scheduled for November, as part of Ain Shams University’s ongoing efforts to support health awareness and stay updated with scientific advances in medicine and treatment.
