Ain Shams University receives a delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, headed by Prof. Thanaa Hassan Rady, Vice President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for Higher Education Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Development Affairs. Environment, Prof. Rasha Khafaji, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, and the Deans of the Faculties of Business, Engineering, Medicine, Science, Languages, Arts and Specific Education, these are the seven faculties that receive accreditation visits during the period from (April 21 to 24, 2024), and the number of programs under evaluation during this period is 31 programs, which are being evaluated on the basis of program accreditation standards.

         
   
         

The delegation included the heads of the authority’s auditor teams to accredit the Faculty of Medicine on the institutional system, in addition to the Faculty of Business applying to accredit four programs, the Faculty of Engineering to accredit two programs, the Faculty of Specific Education to accredit two programs, three programs at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, four programs in the Faculty of Arts, and sixteen programs in the Faculty of Science.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, praised the role of the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Accreditation of Education, stressing that the senior management of Ain Shams University pays great attention to the visits of the quality teams and is keen on continuous communication with the authority, stressing the importance of this in improving the university’s global classification, it also reflects positively on the level of educational service provided.

His Excellency also added that the university is planning institutional accreditation, pointing to the role of accrediting faculties and programs in this regard, pointing out that there are programs in the faculties of Ain Shams University that have been internationally accredited after obtaining local accreditation.

He explained during the meeting that the university provides all financial and moral support to the university’s faculties within the framework of improving the quality of the educational process, noting that there are faculties that were able to develop their own resources, relying on an integrated system and strategy that enabled them to rely on their resources, and there are faculties that the university contributed to providing financial support to.

         
   
         

His Excellency also referred to the financial support provided by the university in the field of scientific research, explaining that the university’s financial plan is consistent with the strategic plan. He also spoke about training university employees through a phased training program. To raise the efficiency of workers, in addition to providing many training courses that qualify them for senior positions.

Prof. Thanaa Rady, confirmed that the largest number of accreditation visits to one university was for Ain Shams University this year, which confirms the university’s momentum to improve the quality of the learning process. She added that the Authority is keen to hold this protocol meeting with the university’s senior management prior to accreditation visits to faculties within the framework of exchanging experiences and continuous improvement.

As indicated by Prof. Rasha Khafaji to the financial and technical support provided by the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center to the faculties, including periodic visits. In this regard, the University President praised the efforts of Prof. Rasha Khafaji and the university’s Quality Center team provide technical support to the university’s faculties and institutes.
