Chinese Language Department Conference at The Faculty of Al-Alsun Highlights Growing Demand for Its Graduates Among Major Chinese Companies in Egypt

As part of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University’s commitment to aligning education with labor market needs, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Yomna Safwat, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Hassanein Fahmy Hussein, Head of the Chinese Language Department, the department organized its scientific conference as part of the “Distinguished Alumni” initiative.

The conference was held with the participation of Ms. Fan Yue Lin, Human Resources Director at OPPO Egypt, and Mr. Saeed Medhat, Sales Manager at Vivo Egypt, in the presence of Prof. Hassanein Fahmy Hussein, Head of the Department Council; Prof. Jean Ibrahim Badawy, former Head of the Department; Prof. Enayat Abdel Hamid, Professor at the Department; along with a number of faculty members and teaching assistants, and a large turnout of students from the Chinese Language and Literature Program and the Specialized Translation Program in Chinese.

   
   

In her remarks, Ms. Fan Yue Lin expressed her pleasure at her first visit to the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, praising the outstanding caliber of graduates from the Chinese Language Department. She noted that OPPO Egypt currently employs more than 30 graduates from the department in leadership positions, highlighting the company’s interest in recruiting more of its graduates considering its expansion plans in the Egyptian market and its ongoing participation in university job fairs.

She also responded to students’ inquiries regarding job and internship opportunities within the company, as well as recruitment criteria, emphasizing the importance of developing practical skills alongside academic qualifications.

For his part, Mr. Saeed Medhat reviewed his professional journey—from studying in the Chinese Language Department and graduating in 2020, to joining Vivo and advancing to the position of Sales Manager. He shared his practical experience with students, affirming that Chinese companies operating in Egypt and abroad show growing interest in the department’s graduates due to their strong competence and positive reputation.

He further highlighted the key skills required for entering the labor market, as well as available training opportunities within companies, while addressing students’ questions on these topics.

At the conclusion of the conference, commemorative photos were taken, and Prof. Hassanein Fahmy Hussein honored the guests in appreciation of their active participation and continued support for the department’s students.
