At the centenary of Cairo University's Faculty of Dentistry…The Minister of Health witnessed the honoring of the President of Ain Shams University and his deputy in recognition of their distinguished academic partnership

In a grand and celebratory scene reflecting the long-standing tradition of Egyptian academic institutions, and on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the first Faculty of Dentistry in Egypt and the Middle East, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, attended the opening of the International Dental Conference (CIDC 2026), which commenced in the Grand Celebration Hall at Cairo University.

During the opening session, Cairo University, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, honored Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghaly, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in recognition of Ain Shams University's pioneering role and its effective strategic partnership in supporting and developing the educational and research system in Egypt.

This honor underscores the depth of cooperation between major Egyptian universities and the integration of their roles in advancing the medical education system and enhancing the quality of its graduates to meet the latest international standards, particularly in the fields of dentistry and healthcare. Dr. Geraldine Mohamed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Cairo University and President of the Conference, praised Ain Shams University's ongoing efforts in supporting scientific research and developing students' skills, emphasizing that this collaboration represents a successful model of academic integration between leading educational institutions.

On the sidelines of the conference, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen and the vice president for education and student affairs expressed their pride in this recognition, affirming that it reflects Ain Shams University's standing and its pivotal role in supporting education and scientific research. They noted that the fruitful cooperation between Cairo and Ain Shams Universities is a fundamental pillar for driving development in the medical sector.

They also emphasized that the international conference, with its advanced scientific sessions and specialized workshops, reflects the development of the Egyptian medical system and its ability to keep pace with global transformations, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in dentistry.

The conference continues until April 4th, with the participation of a select group of international scientists and experts. It will discuss the latest developments in the fields of prevention and oral health and their relationship to chronic diseases, in cooperation with leading institutions and companies specializing in this field.
