Effective Participation of Ain Shams University in the EduGate Riyadh Forum, February 2026

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in their efforts to attract international students to study at Egyptian universities—aligned with digital transformation and Egypt Vision 2030, which aims to position Egypt as the largest educational hub in the Middle East—the University participated under the “Study in Egypt” initiative as an official Platinum Sponsor in the International Higher Education and Scholarships Forum – Edugate Riyadh, held on February 1–2, 2026, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The participation came under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The University’s delegation was headed by Prof. Dina Sami Lashin, Director of the International Students and Visiting Professors Office, with the participation of Dr. Reham Ahmed Atefi, General Director of the Education and Student Affairs Administration, and Dr. Dalia Mostafa Rizk, International Students Coordinator at the Faculty of Commerce.

         
   
         

The forum was held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dania bint Abdullah bin Saud Al Saud, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, the “Study in Egypt” initiative, and Edugate Educational Services.

Her Royal Highness Princess Dania bint Abdullah bin Saud Al Saud inaugurated the forum on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the presence of Ambassador Ihab Abu Sarea, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities; Her Royal Highness Princess Ghadeer Al Saud; and Dr. Ahmed Saeed Fahim Mansour, Egyptian Cultural and Educational Attaché in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Head of the Egyptian Educational Mission, along with a number of academic leaders and presidents of Egyptian and Arab universities.

During Ain Shams University’s participation in the panel discussions held on the sidelines of the forum, Prof. Dina Lashin took part in a discussion session titled “Towards an Environment that Promotes Artificial Intelligence in Arab Universities.” She addressed the role of universities in fostering an AI-supportive ecosystem and outlined key performance indicators for adopting artificial intelligence in education and scientific research.

She also delivered a comprehensive presentation onAin Shams Universityy, highlighting the excellence of its academic programs, the diversity of its specializations, and the integrated support system provided to international students, including academic, administrative, and living services throughout their educational journey.

Prof. Dina Lashin emphasized that the University’s participation aligns with its strategy to support the international student portfolio and maximize the benefits of the knowledge economy, thereby contributing to the national economy, promoting educational tourism, and strengthening cultural relations with Arab, African, and Islamic countries, while underscoring Egypt’s leading role in the region.

She further noted that international education fairs serve as an effective platform to enhance the positive international image of Ain Shams University and its academic programs, identify the needs of global education markets, and build direct communication channels with prospective students, parents, and senior education officials. These events also play a crucial role in marketing distinguished educational services, positioning Ain Shams University among the recommended universities regionally and internationally for international students and reinforcing its status as a leading educational institution at both the regional and global levels.
