The Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University continues to achieve success, with its Students Disability Service Center securing second place among Egyptian universities. This achievement reflects the university's excellence and leadership in providing support services and creating an inclusive university environment.

This recognition came during the closing ceremony of the second edition of the presidential initiative "Tamkeen", held at Luxor Temple under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, as part of efforts to support and empower university students with disabilities.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a number of ministers, and several presidents of Egyptian universities, in addition to Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Rana El-Hilaly, Director of the University's Students Disability Service Center, Dr. Mustafa El-Shahed, Deputy Director of the Center, and a delegation of students from the university's student activities under the supervision of the General Administration for Youth Welfare.

This achievement is the fruit of continuous efforts and fruitful cooperation between the Students Disability Service Center and the General Administration for Youth Welfare, which dedicated all its resources, including trainers and talented students, to support the " Tamkeen" initiative. The initiative aimed to mobilize a large number of outstanding students in skills-based activities, thus contributing to supporting the Center with trained personnel from the Youth Welfare sector, particularly from the arts, under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs.

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali affirmed that this recognition reflects the university's unwavering commitment to empowering students with disabilities. He noted that Ain Shams University prioritizes this issue, stemming from its belief in their full right to equal educational opportunities and a university environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

He added that the university is working to implement a comprehensive system of support programs, activities, and services both within and outside the "Tamkeen" initiative, in line with its institutional strategy to promote inclusion and educational equity, and to provide all the necessary facilities to ensure the active participation of students with disabilities in all aspects of university life.

The university's vice president expressed his sincere gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his unwavering support of initiatives empowering people with disabilities. He emphasized that this support serves as a powerful incentive for higher education institutions to continue developing policies and initiatives that foster a culture of inclusion, citizenship, and equality.

The closing ceremony of the " Tamkeen" initiative is part of national efforts to solidify the principles of social inclusion and educational equity, and to strengthen the role of Egyptian universities as key partners in supporting and empowering students with disabilities, in line with the state's vision for sustainable development and human development.
