Ain Shams University Invites Faculty Staff, Researchers, and Graduate Students to Participate in a National Research Competition to Combat Human Trafficking

Ain Shams University announces that it has received an invitation to participate in promoting a national research competition to combat human trafficking. The competition is organized by the Human Trafficking Victims Assistance Fund, affiliated with the Prime Minister’s Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of ongoing efforts to support national initiatives and strengthen the role of universities in addressing priority societal issues.

In this context, Ain Shams University invites faculty members, researchers, and graduate students to actively participate in the competition, contributing to national efforts to protect victims of human trafficking and to reinforce the role of scientific research in confronting these crimes.

The competition aims to support scientific research and encourage scholars in the fields of law, social sciences in all their disciplines, and psychological and educational studies, in a way that contributes to developing protection and prevention mechanisms, providing support and assistance to victims of human trafficking, building effective partnerships between the academic community and the Fund, and enriching the research library that informs its policies and programs.

The competition targets researchers from Egyptian universities and specialized research centers, with its first annual edition set to launch this year following the completion of all required political and security approvals.

Proposed Research Themes (including but not limited to):

The role of civil society organizations in enhancing services and care for victims of human trafficking.

The role of the private sector in providing funding to support and assist victims.

Mechanisms for the rehabilitation and reintegration ofhuman trafficking victims into society.

The effectiveness of digital awareness programs and interactive platforms, analysis of social media campaigns, and proposals for innovative digital content models.

Integrating the experiences of human trafficking victims into legislative frameworks and social policy pathways.

Financial Awards:

First Prize: EGP 50,000

Second Prize: EGP 40,000

Third Prize: EGP 30,000

Fourth Prize: EGP 20,000

Fifth Prize: EGP 10,000

Submission Requirements and Evaluation Criteria:

Submitted research must be original and unpublished and not previously entered other competitions.

Commitment to sound scientific methodology and clarity of presentation.

Submissions must be in Arabic and submitted in digital format (PDF).

Research papers must include actionable and practical recommendations.

Employees of the Fund and their relatives are not eligible to apply.

Participation is open to researchers and graduate students.
