Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, issued a decision appointing Prof. Suzan Youssef Ahmed El-Kalliny, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Mass Communication, as Media Advisor to the University President, effective from December 1, 2025.

Prof. Suzan is considered one of the leading academic and media figures, with a career spanning prominent leadership positions and high-level advisory roles.

She served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University from 2015 to 2019, and as Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Liwa University in the United Arab Emirates from 2019 to 2022.

She has also held several important advisory positions, including:

Media Advisor to the President of Ain Shams University (2013–2019)

Media Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population (2015–2016)

Media Advisor to the People’s Assembly (2003–2011)

Additionally, she was appointed to the National Council for Women by presidential decree, where she served as Chair of the Media Committee. She was also appointed a member of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in its first formation, as well as a member of the Media Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities.

Regarding her academic contributions, Prof. El-Kalliny has authored 15 books and more than 23 scholarly publications, over 40 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, and more than 25 scientific research papers. She has supervised over 100 Master’s and PhD theses and participated in examining over 120 additional theses.

Prof. Suzan El-Kalliny has participated in at least 30 scientific conferences within Egypt, as well as conferences in Lebanon, Tunisia, and other Arab countries.
