The Faculty of Business Organizes an Orientation Seminar on International Scholarships and Academic Agreements

The Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University, in collaboration with the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, organized an orientation seminar on international scholarships and academic agreements as part of the faculty’s strategy to strengthen international cooperation and expand research and academic partnerships.

The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, University President; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce; and Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector.

   
   

The event took place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the Prof. Ali Lotfy Hall, with the attendance of many faculty members and teaching assistants.

The seminar aimed to introduce faculty staff to available scholarships and research opportunities abroad, highlight academic collaboration opportunities with international universities, and explain the procedures for applying to agreements and joint programs, thereby contributing to enhancing research capacities and exchanging academic expertise. It represents an important step in the faculty’s plan to engage with the international academic community and support the quality of education.

   
         
         

Several experts participated in the seminar. Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady discussed the importance of international partnerships in enhancing the faculties and university’s rankings, reviewed agreements signed with foreign institutions, and explained mechanisms for facilitating academic exchanges for students and faculty.

Prof. Dina Lashin, Executive Director of the Office for International Students and Visiting Professors, highlighted the services provided to international students, their role in fostering academic diversity, and the office’s efforts in attracting visiting professors and managing student mobility programs.

Prof. Reem Al-Kabarity, Executive Director of the Alumni Association, addressed the role of the alumni network in strengthening ties between graduates and the university, emphasizing the use of alumni expertise to support employment and international initiatives.

Dr. Noha Al-Rifai, Deputy Executive Director of the Scholarships Office, provided a detailed explanation of how to apply for scholarships, research funding programs, and the eligibility criteria.

In his speech, Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhi, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the faculty’s commitment to providing full support to faculty members to benefit from international cooperation opportunities. He noted that the faculty aims to expand participation in various international programs across all disciplines, contributing to the development of scientific research and the advancement of academic programs.

This seminar is part of the ongoing efforts by the Faculty of Business and Ain Shams University to enhance their international presence and establish strong academic partnerships with leading universities worldwide, supporting the university’s prestige and leadership at both the national and international levels.
