The Launch of the First Banking Science Program in Egypt at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, in Partnership with the Central Bank and the Egyptian Banking Institute

In a first-of-its-kind initiative among Egyptian universities, the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Egypt and the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), has officially launched the specialized "Banking Science Program." This program marks a qualitative leap in the field of banking and financial education.

The program aims to prepare a new generation of qualified young professionals for work in various sectors of the banking and financial industry. It does so by equipping students with the latest theoretical knowledge and practical applications aligned with the needs of both local and international labor markets, as well as the rapid developments in the field of financial technology (FinTech).

The philosophy of the program is based on a strategic tripartite partnership that brings together academia (Faculty of Business - Ain Shams University), which provides a solid academic foundation in economics, accounting, and management; the regulator and legislator (the Central Bank of Egypt), which ensures that the program outcomes align with the national strategy for developing the financial sector and with international best practices; and the specialized training expertise (the Egyptian Banking Institute - EBI), which delivers the practical component of the program through industry experts, workshops, and real case studies.

The program is designed to be distinguished and unique. Graduates will receive a dual certificate: a bachelor’s degree in business from Ain Shams University and a professional certificate accredited by the Egyptian Banking Institute. The curriculum is fully integrated, combining core academic knowledge with specialized banking skills, alongside intensive practical training within banks operating in the Egyptian market. This ensures that graduates are fully prepared to enter the job market upon graduation. The program is delivered by a select group of faculty staff and industry experts through EBI.

Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy, Dean of the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University, emphasized that this collaboration is part of EBI's strategy to enhance human capital efficiency in the banking sector. He stated:
"We are pleased to be a partner in launching the first specialized university program in banking science, which contributes to building a new generation of professional bankers capable of driving the growth of the financial sector."

The launch of this program represents a successful model of collaboration between academia and industry and directly contributes to achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 by advancing education and preparing qualified cadres capable of leading the financial sector, a vital lifeline of the national economy.
