Ain Shams University Participates in a Symposium on “The Role of the Administrative Prosecution in Protecting Investments and Public Funds”

Within the framework of fruitful cooperation between Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, and the Administrative Prosecution Authority, headed by Counselor Mohamed El-Shenawy, the university participated with a high-level delegation from the Faculty of Law in an important symposium on “The Role of the Administrative Prosecution in Protecting Investments and Public Funds.” The event was attended by 181 members of various judicial ranks, along with several teaching assistants from different departments of the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University.

   
   

The symposium was held at the Administrative Prosecution Complex in New Cairo and witnessed a large attendance of university professors and members of the Administrative Prosecution.

Counselor Berihan Mohsen, Director of the Unit for Women’s Affairs, Human Rights, and Persons with Disabilities at the Administrative Prosecution, conveyed the greetings of Counselor Mohamed El-Shenawy, Head of the Authority, and expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Ain Shams University and to the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Mohamed Safi, for maintaining this constructive cooperation in various legal fields. She emphasized that the theme of the symposium touches on one of the main pillars of the economy—investment—and the legal and contractual obligations arising from it, as well as the mechanisms for resolving disputes related to investment contracts.

   
   

In his address, Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Postgraduate Studies and Research, extended his thanks to the Administrative Prosecution and to the Unit for Women’s Affairs, Human Rights, and Persons with Disabilities for organizing such symposia, which enriched academic culture considering the latest developments in the legal arena.

   
   

Several professors from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University contributed valuable lectures on key topics related to investment and public funds. Prof. Dr. Yassin El-Shazly delivered a lecture on “Investors’ Rights under Egyptian Law and International Agreements.” He also reiterated his appreciation for the Administrative Prosecution’s role in organizing such events that enhance legal knowledge. Prof. Mahmoud Lotfi, Head of the Department of Private International Law, addressed the issue of “Investment Nationality.”

Prof. Sally Samir, Professor of Political Economy, gave a lecture on “The Role of the Administrative Prosecution in Combating Corruption Resulting from Dealing in Virtual Currencies.”

At the conclusion of the symposium, Counselor Berihan Mohsen presented commemorative shields to the participating professors from Ain Shams University in recognition of their efforts and valuable contributions to the success of the event. Certificates of participation were also distributed to all attendees, underscoring the importance of cooperation between judicial and academic institutions in promoting legal awareness.
