Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and as part of the university’s and the faculty’s commitment to enhancing students’ awareness of national issues and current challenges, a seminar entitled: “Confronting Challenges and Threats to Egyptian National Security” was organized under the supervision of Prof. Karim El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Prof. Reham Magdy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

The seminar was organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, General Administration of Youth Welfare, Social Activities Department, under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector. The Social Activities Department at the university coordinated with the Youth Welfare Office and the Student Union at the Faculty of Dentistry to arrange the seminar.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the most prominent threats facing Egyptian national security amid regional and international changes, clarify the role of state institutions and society in addressing them, and emphasize the importance of raising awareness among university youth to protect them against disinformation campaigns and rumors.
Prof. Karim El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty, stated that the seminar came within the faculty’s awareness-raising role, stressing its keenness to present topics that contribute to building students’ awareness of the challenges facing the nation.
Prof. Reham Magdy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, added that the faculty consistently encourages its students to attend such awareness and educational seminars organized by the university, given their great role in enhancing national spirit and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the homeland. She expressed her deep satisfaction with the students’ positive engagement, which reflects their awareness and belief in national issues.
At the end of the seminar, the attendees were thanked, and the faculty administration confirmed its commitment to continuing the organization of such events that strengthen students’ national belonging.
The seminar witnessed the attendance of a large number of students, Student Union members, and administrative staff of the faculty. It also featured significant interaction, with discussions and questions enriching the dialogue and deepening the participants’ understanding of national security concepts.
