Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, and for the first time in Egyptian museums, the Zafaran Palace Museum, in cooperation with the Education and Student Affairs Sector and the Center for Students with Disabilities Services, has launched a specialized training initiative titled "Tour Guiding Skills for the Visually Impaired (Level One)" under the slogan “Together… We Illuminate Knowledge.” This pioneering step marks a significant move toward the integration of people of determination into society.
The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive educational and cultural experience for students with visual impairments within the Zafaran Palace Museum at Ain Shams University, affirming that the museum is an inclusive space accessible to all without exception. It underscores the belief that people of determination are not merely museum visitors, but active partners and valuable contributors to both the institution and the wider community. This step reflects a genuine commitment to empowerment and equality and opens new horizons in Egypt’s cultural and tourism sectors.
The objectives of the initiative include:
- Adapting the museum environment to be more inclusive and accessible
- Offering educational tours guided by experts and academics
- Raising public awareness of the importance of inclusion across all segments of society
The program will run during the summer break, starting August 2025, and will be held every Sunday.
