A distinguished scientific discussion for students of the new credit hour programs at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and the supervision of Prof. Hala Sayed Metwally, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Asst. Prof. Yasmin Mahmoud, General Coordinator of the New Programs, and the heads of academic departments and program coordinators, fourth-year students in the new credit-hour programs at the Faculty of Al-Alsun completed their graduation research discussions for the 2024-2025 academic year. The discussion took place in a distinguished academic environment that reflected the academic and practical training they received during their years of study.

The research was distinguished by its novel topics and close relevance to fields of work and specialization. It addressed a variety of topics, including audiovisual translation of documentaries, historical, and scientific films, machine translation, computer-assisted translation, studies in subtitling and dubbing, translation criticism, translation quality assessment in simultaneous interpretation, linguistic studies in translation, and written translation of literary, economic, and technical texts. Research also emerged that sought to serve the tourism sector in Egypt through tourism translation, accompanied by the design of bilingual websites that promote tourist destinations in Egypt and enhance the tourist experience in their native language. This reflects the students' awareness of the role of translation in cultural and economic development.

It is worth noting that this year witnessed the graduation of students from the written and simultaneous translation programs in English and French, as well as students from the specialized translation programs in Chinese and Russian. In addition, the first batch of students from the specialized translation programs in Spanish, Italian, and German also graduated.
